ABOUT
OUR CLINIC

Pennsylvania Animal Wellness and Surgery (PAWS) is located on Old Route 30 just
below the Westmoreland Mall. Our clinic is set in a 5,500 square foot newly designed
facility with state-of-the-art diagnostic and surgical equipment. The spacious waiting
room offers a separate area for cats to ease the stress and anxiety of their visit. Since
compassion and privacy are important when owners and pets need to say their final
goodbyes, we provide a private room with a convenient, separate entrance.
PAWS is pleased to offer the only Computed Tomography (CT) machine for pets in
Westmoreland County. CT scans are read by board certified radiologists. Referrals are
accepted.
PAWS also offers Endoscopy for biopsies and foreign body removal. Endoscopy
services include Rhinoscopy, Gastroscopy and Urethroscopy. Laparoscopy is being
offered for minimally invasive spays, gastropexy, and cryptorchidectomy for the removal of retained testicles. Referrals are accepted for this as well.
PAWS has a large lab area to run advanced diagnostics and can provide results in 15
minutes on most tests.
Our state-of-the-art surgical suite offers a spacious area with the latest equipment. We perform routine surgeries such as traditional Spays for cats and dogs under 20 pounds, Neuters, and mass removals to more advanced surgeries such as Tibial Tuberosity Advancement (TTA) surgery, Ventral Bulla osteotomy, and soft tissue surgeries with our focus being orthopedics. Referrals for these surgeries are accepted.
PAWS is also pleased to be the only facility in Westmoreland County to offer FidoCure. FidoCure uses genomic testing to identify cancer-causing mutations and then suggests targeted therapy to precisely attack the cancer cells.
